Water Gardening: Late season water hyacinth blooms, 1 by BogweedBuck

I could dig a circle outside of the pond, place a short trench between the circle for a fountain and the pond and VOILA! No more ripples! Out came the shovel for a last minute addition! :o) There's a complete circle that is over 4' across and a narrow 5" area where the water flows back into the pond proper.

ANYHOW ... neither of us were fond of the visibility of the rubber liner and we threw 5 or 6 hyacinth in there. I have yet to see hyacinth growth this tall. The tops of these plants are well over 8" above the water's surface.

Do hyacinth typically bloom this much in late September?
