They do say we grow to look like our dogs, sort of soft and soppy in the case of goldies. :>) Aria my father had Parkinsons too, it is a very cruel illness. I think its worst aspect is that the body falls apart long before the mind so the patient is very aware of what is happening to his/her abilities. Oh Darius, I will have to lend you my tee shirt,(see image I have scanned) a gift from DH at Christmas. I find it very appropriate for periods like you are having right now!! I wear it a lot. Perhaps you should go to bed and try getting out of the other side tomorrow? What can I say except:-(((((((((Darius))))))))) It seems I'm a Mondays child - something obviously went wrong!! Discipline and children is a tricky subject, but kids need rules. They need to know where the walls are and they keep pushing till they feel the resistance. I just expect kids to do as they are told, Can't stand rudeness and violence. You tell them once that X is wrong, tell them a second time with a warning of the consequences if they do it again. The third time you invoke the consequences. It helps of course if you have started when they are very young. Lots of love and hugs and a firm set of rules. At 15/16 there is alot of water already under the bridge and it is hard work to sort things out. In the end though if they wish to continue living in your house with you footing the bills, then they have to stick to your rules. The alternative is to move out and foot their own bills. I think I mentioned we had the grandchildren, ages 2 and 4, for a couple of weeks recently while DS and his wife had an away break. I must have made more of an impression than I thought. I was somewhat amused the other day when they came up to swim in the pool. DS was being rude to me - (in jest, he teases a lot) - his 4 year old son looked him kind of sideways. Then he said 'Daddy you shouldn't say that to Granny, you might make her cross and then she'll shout and send you to bed. She won't let you JUST say sorry you know - you will have to go to bed and think about it first, so she knows you mean it, and then you'll have missed the fun." DS looked at me and said - "I see you haven't changed then" Didn't do him any harm!! I think it might be bed time!! Carol |
