As a rule, hostas with yellow leaves want a fair amount if not full sun to develop the yellow colours. Yellow-variegated can also take a lot of sun. Next come the white variegated, green and finally the blues, which develop the best colour in near full shade. All can take full sun if kept moist enough. I have them scattered around the garden, but the main concentration is along the north border. I've been gardening here for over 20 years so the garden is quite mature...yet I keep adding more with no room! It's a sickness! LOL! Inanda, I've seen Pandora's Box...quite a gem! My smallest is Hosta 'Collector's Choice'; its leaves are thumbnail-sized! Here is a 8 year old specimen. |
