Some colors are more of a 'Silky-Dusty Rose Pink', which is I'm sure how the name was derived. The petals just glisten and shimmer in the sun. I have grown vines with this color bloom with Variegated Leaves AND with Green Leaves NOT Variegated. I have also grown 'Chocolate Silk' which is more of a Deeper Rose Color. Also with both types leaves, Variegated and Non-Variegated. Some of my Rose Silks have also had a very definite 'Star' in the center. All of these have White Picotee Edges. And another that may or may not be the 'Real' Chocolate Silk' that is SOLID with no picotee edge, and leaves are Not Variegated. I have grown so many that were 'different' because they have apparently crossed among each other. I have even gotten a Tie-Dye Rose Silk, and some that were streaked. All of these blooms are about 3"-4". THEN, leave it to me to come up with yet another weird, but INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL cross that had Humongous Blooms that were 6". This particular vine started out blooming 'Rose Silk' with HUGE 6" blooms, then mid-way in the blooming cycle, all of a sudden they were all HUGE 6" Tie Dye Blooms. We still need a 'Professional' explanation. Now where is that 'Ron' when you need him. I KNOW he could explain it to us. Here is a photo of the 6" Tie Dye Rose Silk |
