tall fern-like - I'm assuming you mean the chartreuse colored plant which is a Sambucus. 'Sutherland's gold' I think. I do have the Ferncliff Illusion dahlia which just started blooming but they are dark green foliage with big fluffy white blooms with the tips edged in lavendar. This is the first one to bloom this year.
blue water - just a general reference to water soluable fertilizer like Miracle Grow. I apologize for the confusion. I saw it used in this forum first or maybe a book thats referenced often in this forum and started using it myself.
epsom salt - irregular and inconsistent amounts myself although I do use it. If you searched on it you'll find entire threads concerning it's use. I'll dump in a couple of those small bags to a bag of lawn fertilizer. I also apply it directly to the beds throwing handfuls or using one of the handheld broadcast spreaders. If I add to liquid fertilizer I'm mixing up, it probably comes out to 1 cup per 10gal. give or take.
joy juice - sorry again! Another personal reference to liquid fertilizer.
