I don't think it's a "guy thing", more an insensitivity on the part of some men in perhaps some sort of 'male menopausal' snit. But I could be wrong there, it may just be an individual character flaw. Wish I could regale you with tales of not-so-nice events foisted upon me by my bride, but I can't. I can't even plead for sympathy or understanding (does that mean I'm deprived?) Our 31 years of marriage haven't been perfect, what is, but so much more than I would ever have expected. Putting up with my many idiosyncrasies has been a chore for her and she has tolerated a great deal more than she had to. Without her I would be devastated and unwilling to go on. It seems the few things she may do which I might not like pale in comparison to just knowing she is near. Don't mean to wax mushy-syrupy, but she's a peach and I'm so lucky to have her. On a less personal note---- Our weather has been great. Some light rain to keep the dust down, some sun to keep the id up and enough heat to make it enjoyable without broiling. The new screen door is in as is the doggie door (another of my sweeties ideas I never would have thought of), the lawn is due to be mowed (small job) and today may be the day I lay out the last 6X6 post anchor for the last post for the last 10 foot section of arbor lattice-wall. Now don't that sound like a fun day! Then this evening its a trip to Brier for our granddaughters 7th birthday party. On top of that my wonderful 'sort of' sister is due on the 30th for a weeks visit from the crowds and traffic of So. Cal. All I need now is for someone to buy my '87 Toyota flatbed truck so I can buy more plants. Could use someplace to put them too. Enough of this prattle!! I have to put on shoes and socks (actually the socks go on first, as in socks and shoes) and get out in the yard and do something. This is Tinker's view of her new doggie door. |
