What!!! ME, afraid to step in on ANYTHING!!! balderdash. I was busy advising the White House on caring for their front lawn, then a very quick trip to the Gobi to help the Chinese open a series of Take-Out Turf farms. My professional opinion on lawns is that they are green, except in cases when they are not. LOL When we moved in to this rambler some 30 years ago the previous owner had what passed for a putting green in the front. He is reported to have mowed it (with a manual push mower) twice a week, getting no more than half a catcher of grass, if that much, on occasion. It took me several years to return it to 'lawn' status where weeds and dandelions felt comfortable. But alas, after putting up with loose dogs leaving 'deposits' my wonderful, considerate and sensible bride suggested we landscape the front. Could a man ask for more? Certainly not. The back is still turfed and will remain so. I've eaten away at it with planters as much as I dare. She is thoughtful, kind, considerate, tolerant, in possession of great common sense (which I lack), but not a pushover. Gardening, as with any other activity, is not necessarily gender related. I would certainly prefer having tea with a small group of intelligent people regardless of gender, talking about aphids or Robbie Burns than sitting through a ball game or equally repugnant 'macho' entertainment. Geez sorry folks, I didn't mean to soapbox it. Guess I'm a bit anal on the subject of accepting people for what they are, rather than gender or how they appear.
How's the eye Julie ? Will they be doing the other one soon ?
On another note, today I planted two brugs in the ground and potted nine brug seedlings, and saved $12.90 tonight on groceries by using coupons. DW lets me do the grocery shopping, but controls the checkbook. Smart woman my bride.
