meezersfive wrote: WOW, congrats to everyone on their good news!! Now if we hear from Darius that she was successful in househunting, that will be the frosting on the cake. I'll take some of that coffee, Julie, I need it to wake up. Lost you all for a couple of days as my subscription expired and I didn't realize it until I couldn't get into anything.....just another senior moment in a long series of them....lol. Since I last visited I took down those miniblinds our bedroom, cleaned them, wrapped them up and put them in the basement in case I ever lose my mind and put them up again, or if we should sell this house and the new owner would want them. They looked great after a good soak in the jacuzzi, but I resisted the temptation to put them back up. Put up room darkening shades because our neighbor's garage lights are on all night and shine right into our bedroom. Also found a great buy on drapes for the side windows by the fireplace, looked into other options, but with the drapery hardware already up these are perfect! They were at Penney's Warehouse in the returned goods dept., marked down from $339.00 to $56. Woohoo!! Now I have light and privacy. I feel victorious. I knew if I haunted that dept. long enough something would turn up....(4 years later....hahaha) GS and wife coming over tonight, he insists I have to teach her how to make meatballs ...Good grief! As if that's an exact science!! I usually wing it but I suppose I'll have to be a tad more precise for her benefit! Made pasta yesterday, dragged out the old hand crank machine, which was my mother's, and my little drying rack, which is just a bunch of dowels cut to fit and assemble as you need it, Sampled some for lunch, yum! Forgot how much fun it is to make your own. My dad used to make his own, especially for ravioli...started out with one of those little wavy cutters, and made them 2" x 2", as he got older and less willing to fuss, they became larger and larger until at the end he was using a saucer for the "template" and two of them was a meal!!! He could have been a chef, he had the right attitude, "Bring me this" "Get me the spatula" etc. and expected the "staff" (me and mom) to do the dirty work... fetching and cleaning up. Julie, the greenhouses look fantastic! Weather went downhill after the weekend but all those storms went right around us...and headed for Sarv!! Julie, I don't think I have the patience required to deal with a toddler for more than an hour...I'd have them duct taped to the wall by the time a parent arrived to take them off my hands! Also, DH just reminded me that the wedding weekend coincides with the RU, so that's not an option for me. I kept thinking April, until I mentioned the RU to him. Here's my 83% off bargain of the month! |
