debi_z, believe it or not that was just 2 bulbs and spring planted to boot. What a beautiful workhorse it was! I do really enjoy those that fade and stay pretty through the process, that La Reine sure looks like it needs to live in my garden!

sadiemaewebb, sure hope they do well for you. I believe they all should have been big enough to bloom, not to mention they don't have to work to get established in addition to blooming this spring/summer. Please share pictures so I can see how 'my kids' settled in!

rose_petalzz, I am just a novice to lilies myself, and even though I am several zones colder than you I just don't see how you could go wrong with any of the asiatics, orientals, or even orienpets. I would try to protect the orientals with afternoon shade. Kooger is right about the incredible fragrance of the orientals, but if you have more types you'll have a longer bloom season. Asiatics are the real workhorse in the lily family and the selection of colors is mind boggling. One final suggestion would be to plant slightly deeper than suggested and mulch. You'll be trading lilies in no time!

Here is Shiraz an asiatic. I don't think this one is very pretty as it fades, but I'll see what it does this year.
