During the summer it can reach 6', when I prune it I usually cut about a 1/3 of the stems back to about 6" from the soil line. Cuttings are easy to root. If I try to root cuttings from the stems I have pruned and it is early enough early to mid September they take easily. If I wait too long only half of the cuttings root or they take two or three months to put out roots. Cuttings are best in late summer or early fall. The white berries are quite easy to germinate.
