We moved here from Christina Lake, which is 3/4 of a drive from here over the Paulsen Pass, right on the border, straight north of Spokane. We had a lake view when we lived there. I loved it. Christina Lake is the most beautiful lake in B.C. in my opinion, but hubby's employment brought us here and Castlegar is a gorgeous place too, but the closest lake is 15 minutes away rather than accross the road. But as long as I can see any body of water at some point in the day, I'm happy. I think I should have been born under the sign of Aquarius!
