The old pond was 150 gallons with an in pond biofilter and was approximately 4 (L) x 2 (W) x 2.5 (D) feet. What I really liked about the old pond was that although it was newly build (and clad in pine) it had an aged look to it that it matched my patio table (Indoneasian hardwood). The new pond will be roughly 600 gallons and is 6 (L) x 3.5 (W) x 4 (D) feet. Instead of the in-pond bio this pond will have a bottom drain to an external filter. It is almost complete but I still need to find a couple of bulkhead fittings to be used for overflow and electrical accesss for lighting, and the container and media for the external bio filter. I am a little nervous about cutting into the liner, however if all goes as planned It will be great . I will likely look into getting a couple of colorful koi in the spring.
