I have always had the best luck with my endless summer hydrangeas if I leave them alone. Two years ago, my husband thought he was doing me a favor, and he cut the dead wood back to the ground in the early spring. We had no blooms last year. He felt really bad about it. This year, we left them alone, and they are blooming well, but have all this dead wood sticking up beyond the bush. In the past, the bush usually grew taller than the dead wood, so we never saw it. Should I trim those, or just leave it alone?
