I just bought 2 - 1 gallon clematis plants, one came with a 4” green, leafy sprout but the other was just a few short brown sticks. Both are supposed to be the same plant. Is this normal or could the one be dead? I contacted the seller 5 days after I received them and all he said was “clematis aren’t like annuals, they’ll be fine”. I gotta admit, it was a little put off by his comment.
