I’ve inherited a very old Monstera Deliciosa which is about 1.6m tall, but only has 2 leaves, both right up the top of its long, bare ‘trunk’! I’m just wondering if there’s a way to get the ‘trunk’ to sprout new leaves/a new growing tip?! I was thinking of taking a cutting from it, thinking that might encourage new growing tips to emerge, but because these 2 leaves are so close together & the highest visible node/aerial root is underneath both leaves, taking a cutting would leave the trunk with no leaves at all... would that make the trunk just die? Because it would have no leaves to photosynthesise then... Here’s a (really terrible) pic in case it helps! |
