My girlfriends mother lives in the Philippines and she has a ton of plants, including large plumeria trees. She has a group of three next to a pond and I noticed one of them looked pretty sickly. Upon inspection it looks like severe whiteflies and also mealybugs among other things. Some of the leaves are COVERED in white insects. They look like whiteflies and when I disturbed them they did indeed fly away. I\'ve dealt with mealybugs with succulents and I noticed what looked like a white cotton ball and when I rubbed it the casing smeared just like a mealybug egg. The only thing I can\'t figure out is the small black oval bugs.
Can someone confirm my findings and if so what should we do? One of the plants is pretty bad, the other two are starting to show signs of trouble. Some of the leaves are yellowing and I can only guess they will be next since all three are right next to each other. Is it better to cut all the leaves off the severely infested one, if so, where exactly should we cut it? It would be very time consuming to try and clean each leaf. In addition, we are in the Philippines so there isn\'t exactly a Home Depot to swing by to buy a pesticide and even making our own organic mix might be difficult. Thanks!
