I live in Gloucester, England and for many years I have watched a tree develop in my back garden. It was planted some 20 years ago but I forget to label it. It is at this time of year that an amazing blue blossom appears but it is short lived.. only 2 or 3 weeks at most. Friends have suggested it is a Californian Lilac but the leaves on mine are quite pointed so I am not sure. Of course there are many varieties out there so I should not discount that.
