The bugs are reddish, and look a bit like an ant or a wasp, no wings, and have long black legs and antennae. Their legs look a bit like a water insect, high arched and spreading. They are small, a little larger than a fire ant, and their abdomens are turned upwards "butt in the air". They look nasty and like they might bite or sting, but no visible stinger that I can see. They appeared in a group of ten or fifteen on a spathiphyllum bud, but now they are spreading out on the plant. They don't appear to be eating or sucking or laying eggs or building nests. Yet. Any ideas? I am living in the St Petersburg area of Florida. This message was edited Apr 28, 2017 10:59 AM |
