Piperlondon wrote: Hi all! I\'m a newbie to container gardening, and have eagerly read the various threads and Al\'s suggestions on ficus cultivation, soil, watering schedules, potting, etc. I really appreciate the time everyone has taken to educate the community. I have just received a ficus religiosa in the mail, and have done nothing but water it so far. I know it\'s not a good time to repot (1 month before most vigorous growth would be June I think). But I have no clue about the soil type it was sent with (just feels like a potting mix). What would you suggest as my next step to get this plant through the winter? I\'ve attached a picture. I\'m guessing I need to get it out of this little plastic container it came in, in a mix heavy in perlite, but is it a safe time to repot? Thank you in advance for any suggestions! |
