From your pictures--to me it seems to have enough roots to pot it up, since they root without any previous roots (from water) straight into a MIX. Do not over water. keep it just moist. Put it outside in the summer once the weather gets warm. No direct sun! Just a bright shade exposure will be fine. I have been growing one for 25 years. Same plant. I just take cuttings in the spring when i put it outside. Get rid of thee long \"cane\" stems (if any). They do not need to be there. Older plants develop these. new plants may not...yet.... First--take cuttings from the tops of the canes, and pot them up and wait... Cut back the older plant to \"nubs\" and it will re-grow. And--so it goes--every year.... have been doing this for 20-25 years. Same plant. This is in late July--August in 2008. This shows you how well they can come back from being cut back. Of course--this plant is quite old. But, still--it is the same pant no matter what. Nurture it and let it grow and cut it back--and let it grow. etc... Yours can look just like mine. Gita |
