As an adult, our houses have always been white (all 2 of 'em, including the one we live in now).. up until just a few years ago when we got that horrid old grey carpeting torn out and got lovely hardwood flooring. Now the walls are a creamy eggshell, just enough "off" from white to bring out the warmth from the floor, but not be too dark.
Forgive the messiness of the floor, it was still brand new and had yet to be cleaned up and ready for furniture. :) This pic shows the colour of the living room wall, the 'just-right' warmth of the creamy egg shell.
