medical doctors. . . ***sigh** upon first meeting, I can tell just HOW respectful he'll be and usually fairly quickly determine what kind of attitude he has towareds his p[atients (listens to" basically ignores and expects you to automatically do what he says 'cause he's A DOCTGOR and he kjnows vbest. . .)

Dr. White Coat strides in and announces "Hello, Pat, I'm Dr. Coat. [1st wince at the presumptious, disrespectful address.] What can WE do for you today?" [2nd wince at the Royal "WE"] My response: "Hello, Doctor, I'm Dr. *****" Things either immediately go splendidly or rapidly spiral out of control.

Since my degree is in a closely related field aand I've taken some of the same courses they have: I don't accept such curious explanations as "nerves will heal". Doctors who say such things do NOT like to be challenged, contradicted or corrected!

Nerves do NOT heal. The nerve may be inflamed and THAT can be addressed and corrected. Nerves cannot repair themselves or be repaired; an alternate route for the transmission of impulses might eventually be establ.ished by the body. If the gap between the two ends of a transected (completely cut} nereve is more than a very small {so small, the space is almost invisible. . . athe width of very fine hair is HUGE in comparison), then the resulting loss of function (that depends on impulses from this nerve). . is PERMANANT because nerves do NOT heal.

Think about somebody who's paralyzed because thier spinal cord was severed [cut] due to an accident: Think of the spinal cord as a conduit. . . housing nerves that run to and from the brain, caryying orders and sensations to and from various parts of the body. It doesn't take a degree to realize nerves do not heal.

Honestly!!! Some of the things I've heard from medical doctors! Do you know what they call the guy who graduated very last in his class at medical scjhool? DOCTOR!!!!!
