This one grows really fast...so I started another 4 from big pieces that fell off the plant as i was trying to put the pot into a sturdy wire-shaped HB. I wanted something that would hold the HB as even as possible. You have seen how lop-sided it grows. Then the side with thw heaviest fronds gets to be too heavy and the pot tilts. It is not easy to handle this big, heavy Epi. Besides--it has "invisible', hair-like thorns all over. Wear good gloves. If you like--I can pot up a 10" HB for you with the cuttings. I have some that have been rooting for a long time. This way--you will get the plant going earlier. you won't have to mess with it until way later. IF you have any old WIRE HB hangers--that is what you want to use. OK! I will let my Swamp Milkweed grow in my raised bed. How far will it spread? I DO like the tropical one better, though. More color.... This one? Right??? g. |
