Insect and Spider Identification: North Carolina giant bee-like, aggressive, nocturnal bug , 1 by ncaptiva

It seemed both aggressive and intelligent. It was fighting another bug that looked just like it, it killed it, had it wrapped up in a ball & was trying to carry it off. It is pictured here with the bug it killed. Super interesting to watch!

I also have video of it that I could upload to YouTube if that'll help identify it.
