It was nice that Critter and Aspen lingered for a while longer. Donner and Catbird, you took great photos; some of them are so artistic...there are views of my back yard that I don't notice or fully appreciate. My youngest daughter and I went plant shopping together and came back with some great native bog plants for my pond. Left to right in the black floating circles: Peltandra virginica (Arrow Arum), Equisetum hyemale (Horsetail) and Saururus Cernuus (Lizard's Tail). They join the other native marginals and floaters I already had: Caltha palustris (Marsh Marigold), Limnobium spongia (Frogbit), Azolla caroliniana (Azolla) and Bacopa caroliniana (Lemon Bacopa). The 2nd photo shows how it looks now. I haven't planted the new plants yet; they can wait until I get all of the beautiful swap plants in the ground! I treated myself by getting rid of the stupid waterfall which has been such a pain because if it gets the slightest bit unbalanced, the pond starts draining. My DD ordered a pond fountain for me; I'll take a photo when it's installed. This message was edited May 10, 2015 9:30 PM |
