Shrub - Rhus copallinum 'Creel's Quintet' - Creel's sumac (sale size: 3 gallon) $44.00

Creel's Quintet is a compact, tough, winged sumac. Reaching a maximum height of only 8-10'. It does have a suckering habit so the clump will get wide eventually. Moist to dry soil in full sun to light shade. This is the female form and the fruit it produces is an important for source for birds and mammals. The beauty in this sumac besides its size is the outstanding fall color of red and burgundy.

Shrub - Xanthoriza simplicissima - yellow root (sale size: 1 quart) $20.00

Xanthoriza literally means 'yellow root' used for its yellow dye by native American Indians. A tough native shrub in the buttercup family. A fantastic ground covering shrub with excellent fall color. A true coastal native, Spicebush, has been referred to as the native forsythia. A woodland shrub that can get to 12' tall by as much wide in full sun to part shade. Greenish-yellow flowers appear in April with a bright red fruit in late fall. Fall leaves yellow to golden. Good for naturalized woodland areas, shrub borders, and as a full dense shrub in the sun. Flowers attract butterflies and birds feast on the berries in the fall.
