Pfg wrote: The weather is so silly here! We are now having a heat wave, up in the 90's, and things are looking thirsty. All of June was a monson, last weekend we had over 1" of rain in just a day or two, now I have to water! All the rain predicted for our area has been just missing us, either to the north or the south. A few things happening in the garden, lots more about to pop. The funny thing is, the 2 Platycodons I left in place are just about to do it, and the ones in the Blue Garden are growing well but way behind. 1: Because clumsy me broke so many of the Delphinium Bellmosum stems, I went out again yesterday and came home with D elatum Dasante Blue, a more compact deep blue. Veronica Sight-seeing Blue is in a pot behind the trellis. Also in pots V Austriaca, Penstemon Rocky Mountain Blue, and Clematis Arabella. V Sunny Border Blue has buds, and I want to see how the colors work together before planting any more. 2:. Ceratotheca Triloba, South Apfrican Foxglove 3: Pennisetum Karley Rose, Asclepias Tuberosa 4: Hydrangea Samantha and a volunteer Verbascum Wedding Candles, second year. I have no idea where the roots found room to grow between the rocks and other established plants! 5: Longer view of the lower lawn, showing the new PG Hydrangea standard and the Blue Garden. Still lots of empty spaces, and not a great impact yet, but bit by bit... That area is a hot spot, and thankfully yesterday I finished it up for now. When the tall trees start to shade the middle lawn borders, I'll go back outside, but I'm doing inside chores until that happens! |
