Hello all. Long time, no hear. I've been lurking here and there and doing many other things, but not posting much, but I'm back now and decided to continue this series of "My Birds." I have not been able to do much bird photography so far this year and realized how fast time has past this season. I will start this thread off with the baby Cedar Waxwing. On Sunday, after cycling in the morning, I was sitting in my drive way and noticed something sitting on this branch that had fallen out of the tree in my front yard; we had a terrible storm this past Saturday and there were lots of downed trees, branches etc. I thought it was a leaf, so I walk over to verify and there was this little Cedar Waxwing sitting on the branch. Now, I have never seen a Cedar Waxwing near my house, so this was quite a surprise (thinking the storm may have had something to do with it). Needless to say, I ran in the house to get my gear. I took many photos and then just watch the little one for awhile, then I after awhile I thought it was abandoned, so I did some research just in case I had to rescue the baby bird. I just kept an eye on the little one to make sure no critters would harm it. I saw what appeared to be it's sibling dead in another area, so I was concerned. I went a bit closer and it went on the defensive and began calling out, then I heard another bird calling back and then saw the parents fly into the tree. Needless to say, I was relieved. I went to the store and when I came back the little one was gone, but I still here it's call so I know it's ok and nearby. Well here are some images of the little one.
