atlas624 wrote: Hi fellow gardeners! I am new to gardening this year (grew up on a farm and gardened with my dad but I was little so he did and knew all of the complicated things!). My gardening adventure started with mainly herbs from seed outdoors in containers in late April. I also decided to try snapdragons from seed since I have always loved them. I am in North Central WV and in Zone 6a. We have had a lot of rain (my darker snapdragon pot even got flooded!) and hot and humid when not raining lately. I have attached pictures of my 2 snapdragon pots. The seeds were planted on April 29 and are Ferry-Morse Snapdragon First Lady, Mixed Color. I\'m sure I need to thin them, I just don\'t know how much or how. I read something about pinching them off at a certain point as well and I am not sure where and when you are supposed to pinch. The lighter pot is about 12 3/4\" wide at the top and the darker pot (the one that flooded but came back) is 12\" wide at the top. If anyone can give me some advice on how to properly thin and care for my snapdragons, it would be greatly appreciated! Thinning is so painful and hard! (I tried to put relevant pictures but since I\'m not sure what I am doing, I hope they help. I can always take more :) Also, I am not sure why my pictures are showing up sideways.) |
