Gitagal wrote: helciop Five feet tall????? I have never seen that here! But--you live in FL--and I live in Baltimore MD. Such different climates. Can you tell me what kind of exposure and conditions yours grows in? I have grown a Brazilian Plume Flower for years now. They bloom every year, Mine is never that big--even though I imagine it could be in a place like FL. Soo--I cannot advise you because we have totally different zones. I keep mine outside all summer--in filtered light. They do best in bright shade. NO sun! About every 2 years--I cut it back after it blooms--and stick all the cuttings in a tray of potting mix. They root easily. Right now I have about 20 cuttings growing from this past summer. Because the BP is a woody plant--it breaks easily if it were to fall over. That is how I learned that I can root the pieces. In the winter--I keep it by a bright window and let it do its thing. I can tell you that his plant is a total water hog. It requires a lot of watering. The leaves on yours and mine look different. Are there more than one cultivar? Gita Here are some pictures from previous years of it in bloom. |
