My first kitty adopted me and we had 10 lovely years together. She, too, was declawed on the front and made the transition to an indoor kitty. She was a scared, skittish girl who hid under the bed or coffee table every time it rained or there was a noise, but with constant love, patience, and food, she came around.

Here are a few things blooming in my garden.

Rock rose--not as prolific with the blooms in partial shade, but still reliable.
Yellow shrimp plant (from Smock at one of my first RUs in Arlington)
Esperanza (Yellow Bells)
Gomphrena "Strawberry Fields" (from bananna)
Lantana horrida (volunteer) and Turk's Cap in the background
