The cairn is due to be revised. I do think it's lovely, but it seems too small and too regular for its spot. When the daylilies in front of it bloom, it will be dwarfed. Also, a lot of the stonework around here is very old, nearly two centuries, and some is quite random. We'd like more of that chunkyness and eccentricity in the cairn. Our stone guy is lovely and completely gets it, wants to wait until he sees what happens in the next couple of weeks as the DL's come into their own. I almost wish we could put this one somewhere else where it would work better...

He's also adapting a low stone wall into a cooking area, with a charcoal grill in it. That's coming along well, we should have it by next week.

And I do love the birdbath he made!
