We just bought and moved into our first home in January. The property has four grapevines. They have black rot...I'm sure of it now. It started with little rust colored spots on the leaves. I tried my best to keep it at bay by pruning every infected leaf off...but it was too late. The grapes are getting brown, turning black, and becoming mummies. On top of that, there are Japanese Beetles devouring what leaves are left (I think that's what they are). Those beetles are everywhere...the grape vines, my green beans, and my willow tree.

Should I just cut the vines back to the trunk and try again with them next year? I would be better prepared by treating them with fungicide. Plus, if I cut them back now, I can burn every single branch or just take them to the dump. That way no mummies fall to the ground that I could miss when cleaning up underneath the grape vine canopy.

Thanks in advance.
