wind--I have all those too--you just cannot see them from a distance....:o)

I mostly wanted you all to see how "structured" all my beds are....no free spaces to experiment.
Lots of pots and containers....

Love the shade in my back yard, though. it is 10* cooker when you round the corner.
My 2 trees work well for that--but I hate the roots in, and on, the ground.

Also--does this give you a perspective of WHY I call that corner bed my "YUK" bed?
How close to a 45yr. old Silver Maple can one get--and still grow?
Pretty much everything that is planted in it can, sort of, fend on its own.
I have great respect for those plants. Of course--I planted them all in there--so i KNOW!

Some more shots from a different perspective. Hope you feel as if you have now visited my
back yard. Of course--there are Three other sides yet.

1--Here is a side-view from my neighbor's side--looking west.
Good idea of the trees and the shade....

2--looking from the back neighbor's yard towards the back of my house.
This is a Red maple--aka Swamp Maple...(???) It is much daintier and better behaved---the roots still go everywhere...

3--Looking from my behind-me-neighbor's yard to mine--this is the BIG Silver maple.
Just on the other side of the split raail fence is my "YUK" bed...Both trees are so big that their leaf-canopies meet overhead.
AHHH--shade!!!
