I would think that 1 coat on hat/brim and boots would be enough..I say this only because I've pre-stained all the pieces

With the snowman body though, likely 2 or 3 coats, make sure to let them dry between coats or the paint will lift..if you want to keep on trecking then use your hair blower to dry each coat.

Photo 2: 1 coat of off/white doesn't allow for full coverage...

NOTE:NOTE:NOTE - you could take out the five snowman faces and paint
them in the off white while you are at it
