First of all, we have no idea what kind of plant it is, so identity would be really nice!

Second of all, the roots look like they're rotting and there's a white film on the leaves. The plant isn't full nor thriving at all.

Can new plants be grown? Can this one be saved? Sniff... Please please help!!!
