Good grief! It always gets quiet here in summer, but it\'s eeerie!

How is everybody? I see many of you on Facebook and your flowers look pleasant. :)

My garden transferred from old house to this house is exactly one year old. It was wild and wonderful, albeit small. It has made me very happy, even such as it is. I released five Monarchs this year, though I had mortality of many caterpillars due to disease and/or pesticide exposure. It\'s hard to explain, but I will continue to garden for butterflies and pollinators.

we just came thru hurricane Matthew, and I only lost one Mexican sunflower plant/Tithonia. It broke in half about a foot and a half from the ground, and a lot of the plant fiber is intact so the broken part is not dead, it\'s just resting. HA.

The new garden is now also completely in the shade whereas it was full sun midsummer. There are some wonderful giant old trees in this neighborhood, but awkward gardening at this time of year in full sun flower garden with no sun. Hmmm.

Hope to hear from you!
A.
