The yellow handled thing is a Diggit made here in Seattle. I think you could lever up a tree with it. The long handled dandelion weeder is used a lot. Also my Flame Weeder which I use quite a bit.
I think I will check out the non-skid spray. Fluorescent paint is also a good idea.
