I mentioned that 1 girl that helped Jeff net up these fish from the man in Winter Spgs. had all of hers die except 1 that she bought from same place. I feed them floating pellets that I bought at the fish farm same formula M. Mary uses. Also, have fed it to other pond full of fish for over a year and they are lively and doing well. I didn't pay enough attention to water quality and that may have caused a problem. Their systems could have been weakened during the winter and parasites could attack them from what I've read when water temps jumped up fast. I've talked with a lot of ponders and they all say the same thing. So many variables its difficult to know which problem to attack first. Water is clear now and they seem livelier if that's a good word. I used to get rattled about it but no more. Tomorrow I will order summer blend, medizyme and sludge remover plus vacuum more often. My old smaller pond has fish that are now 6 years old and have had sickness but made it through so far. The leaves are more trouble this year than ever before. I put bird netting over both of them but doesn't catch it all so next time I'll build some frames and staple it to them and then lay it over ponds. I don't like the netting but it seems necessary. Right now I have to move on to working on the pool. I'll try to attach a pic of it. It's 20X40 and ranges from 10 feet to 3 1/2. How I dread it but it will be nice when the heat strikes. Bonnie |
