One of my customers has asked me about this Ixora plant. I don't know much about tropicals and have never grown Ixora so I decided to just treat it as if it was a Gardenia and asked the questions I normally would for problems with them. Here are the facts I know:
- it's been in the ground since spring
- there is no sign of insect activity
- no fertilizers or chemicals have been added to the soil nearby
- nothing has been sprayed on the foliage including insecticide, fungicide, water (though we did not rule out dog pee)
- the sunlight has not changed though it does have full western exposure
- there is no reflected light source nearby (white siding, glass, metal or otherwise)

It looks like phytotoxicity to me but I can't figure out why. Could it be some strange deficiency? The necrotic tissue does have some fungal spores present but the pattern doesn't look like any fungus/disease/bacteria I know so I assume that's secondary. All I have is a few leaves to look at but I will attach a picture of the whole plant as soon as she sends it to me.
Any thoughts?
