Trying to sort them all to see which ones I can pick off & which ones to leave I didn't get a photo of the ladybugs, aphids, or whiteflies cuz I know what those are! I know the ladybugs are eating the aphids so I'm leaving them alone. I also like the caterpillars (most likely swallowtail) so I don't want to get rid of them either. This little prickly vine has appeared in a few of my beds. I thought it was kind of neat looking so I've been letting it grow to see what happens In the first photo, this is the biggest one of them on the plant. There are tons of really really small ones that are mostly black with a small orange spot on the side. The second one is a caterpillar (one of the swallowtail I think) - there are several like this, different sizes Third is another caterpillar, again I believe a swallowtail. Is it a different type if swallowtail? This was the biggest caterpillar on the plant and there are several smaller ones with similar marks. Last is a chrysalis of one of these caterpillars, but which one? |
