Eared Grebe's are in the Western U.S but I get some of the similar species mixed up, i.e. the Horned Grebe and the Red-necked Grebe.

As you might expect, I've spend most of my photography time at the Conowingo Dam over the past 2-3 months taking 1,000's of Bald Eagle photos. I enjoy the fraternizing almost as much as taking photos. This was the mildest time frame that I have experienced over the past 6 years. It would be nice to get a few more "closer" fishing shots that don't have the tail-end facing the camera but you get what you get ...... I haven't been to Patuxent since September. They are seeing some Crossbills fairly regular over the last two weeks.

The following shots were taken on my last trip to Blackwater.

1. Tundra Swans - 3 juveniles, 2 adults
2. Northern Harrier
3. Bald Eagle - sitting on the Osprey nest
4. American Coot
5. Great Blue Heron

Note: Methodical, if you visit Blackwater, be very careful of the speed camera on Egypt Road (it's new). My last trip was a little expensive !!!
