They sit and bloom a bit then just dwindle away. I imagine I should start them in the fall and let them get a really good root system before summer sets in. The mondo 'lawn' will look really beautiful and be easy care, too. I'm sure with your good soil, you will do better than I have. I tenderly planted it, watered, fertilized. It sat and sat, did nothing, and 4 years later is dwindling away. However, I'm going to try again as it's the only thing I can think of for the particular spot in question. Think I'll have to replace all the soil. Here's a pic of the pitiful tufts that are left of my plantings. Also, a flower coming on the Rainbow Costus! |
