GREENSIDEUP wrote: Hi Everyone, Cathy, Yes some Clematis flowers make great cut flowers including my favorite of all c. 'Henryi,' a great white. I am also showing a photo. of c.'Polish Spirit' with a few drop dead orange lilies in a frog. I did it for a friends Birthday party and everyone thought it was grand. I used a frog.I never thought about monitor quality affecting the color quality, that sure makes sense! Everyone- I believe Spring Valley site said they are cleaning up many clems. with tissue culture. If that is so we should have less issue with ' Clematis wilt' with the early Lanuginosa crosses ,such as c. 'Jackmanni'. Perhaps other clematis that have been propagated from single plants may possibly even more vigorous. I have nothing except my amateur observations of other plants in other genera but I and others think we have seen increased vigor from cloning. Carolynn- Here is a pic. I took of a c.'Pillu' I bought at the Big Flats mall Lowe's store yesterday. I paid $16.95 for it bit it is well grown, lots of stems , has great roots and looks roaring to go!! Lee |
