I bought a topiary gardenia (which I have never seen before) from a reputable nursery about 9 months ago. Naturally I was excited to place it in my south facing sunroom in anticipation of being bathed in daily fragrance. No such luck. The plant has never bloomed. Instead what was a lush green little canopy on top now has brown or yellow leaves. All other plants in my sunroom are thriving

Based on what I read here and elsewhere, I understand gardenias are fussy plants but soil is moist , and I give it some diluted homemade whey which all my other acid loving plants get and thrive on. I am showing a photo of the gardenia plant alone and then with a key lime plant in background

Would appreciate any suggestions. pls
