I just lost a great post. Trying to use another window to look up a scientific name for the mum. Well back to it, now that pics are up. I was trying to identify my chrysanthemum species, got a cutting of this a couple of years ago,the big plant is still blooming despite having been thru the 25 degree freeze (or colder) in late october. The smaller plant, closer bloom, is one of the cuttings I took in September, potted and put in the greenhouse during the freeze. You can see not quite red, not quite orange, single bloom.

Eldarica pine trees grow here. I planted 2 in Arlington in 1992, ex hasn\'t watered, at least one is still alive. I planted 2 here in spring 2002, one fell over in rain that first year, got propped up, is short and twisted and in front of the big one. The big one has a double leader which will eventually kill the tree, but since it\'s 18 and I think they only live to 30, and since I discovered the split late in its development, I\'m not going to cut off one side and wreck my tree. It\'s just going to be natural.

my poor cactus is still alive, struggling but still alive after its potting accident. (burying way too much plant and watering, worst yet)
