Insect and Spider Identification: Need help identifying a beetle, 2 by jrpotts

Every morning I find between a dozen and up to a few dozen that seem to come from the gravel and move towards my front door. They are also making it into the garage. In other years I didn\'t sweep everyday and they would come into the house. That\'s why I call it an infestation. I have not found any place in the house where they are in groups.
