Angelickho wrote: I planted this Hydrangea 3 years ago ( 4 pencil size twigs bought on Poundshop). Planted it on the Flower Bed with other Hydrangeas ( White 3rd on the 1st Picture ), Lavander and Cyclamen and last summer ( 2014 ) it bloomed ( about a dozen flowers on each plants ) to this Heart Shaped Flowers. I'm not sure what type of Hydrangea this is? Leaves are not variegated, the initial bloom onset start as like creamy - lime green ( 1st on the picture ) then slowly change to pinkish cream then red, to my surprised all the blooms resembled a heart. Its blooming at the moment - still on the creamy- lime stage of flowers but will it resemble a heart bloom again this year or is it just a one time freak of nature. I planted it on semi shade place with east shining sun ( about 4 hours exposure ), deadheaded and trimmed late autumn ( only 3 cuttings survived and growing at the moment ). The soil pH in my place is 7.0 - 8.0 + limey water. Fertilised with Fish, Blood, Bone Meal Fertilizer last summer and this spring. We have a mild winter last year and didn't even protected it from frost though it shooted with lots of new growth buds this year + bloom buds and hoping it will be another Heart Blooms. |
