I was never able to keep more than a couple in my old yard, although once established they lasted for years. I didn't bring them with me, which is why I am so thrilled to have them. I didn't know there was a Blue Queen! One thalictrum that did make the transition from my old yard to new was one that I bought: aquilegifolium 'Sparkler'. It's a hybrid and I had to purchase it. It struggled a bit there but it lasts much longer here in more shade. We have not had a single measurable snow. That is a record that goes back more than 100 years. They have been slammed to the east and the north but we have had no more than a dusting. And next week they are predicting - perhaps one inch! Wow! |
