Speaking of cool caterpillars, I found this guy crawling across my meadow/lawn the other day while I was out tending to things. When I moved the grass around him he immediately curled up into a tight ball. I was thinking he might be a woolly bear but am not sure. Does anyone have a positive ID for him? He was quite large and very furry and mostly reddish-brown, except for the black stripey ends.
